PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to work on the Jatiluhur I Regional Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) project in West Java Province. This project, owned by WIKA Tirta Jaya Jatiluhur (WTJJ), has Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) in 2 locations, namely in Bekasi and Cibeet, which aims to serve the water needs of DKI Jakarta and West Java by managing raw water from the Jatiluhur Dam.
In this national strategic project (PSN), WIKA, which is part of a consortium with JKON - Tirta Jabar KSO, has a portion of Rp 1.03 Trillion. President Director of WIKA Agung Budi Waskito (BW) said that currently, WIKA is focusing on working on the Bekasi WTP, Cibeet Karawang WTP, drilling for the installation of transmission pipes using MTBM to the off-take point of the eastern center.
"The Bekasi WTP itself has an area of 3.2 Ha with a production capacity of 4,400 liters/second to serve the water needs of the Bekasi Regency, Bekasi City, and DKI Jakarta. Meanwhile, the Cibeet Karawang WTP has an area of 1.1 Ha with a production capacity of 350 liters/second to serve the water needs of the Karawang Regency community," explained Agung BW
The existence of Jatiluhur SPAM also supports the Government's efforts to improve environmental conditions in Jakarta, as well as reduce the use of groundwater as drinking water and overcome land subsidence.
